Zac Efron was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night, and he had some strange encounters with Lior Suchard. Efron was on the show to promote his new movie “Charlie St. Cloud.” Looks like a good, heartfelt movie. But let’s move on to the fun stuff, eh? Efron talked about bungee jumping (he had a visual aid), his mustache adventure, and the truth behind his People Magazine cover.

If Zac Efron had a cold on Monday, as opposed to allergies, he probably passed it along to some fans at Bloomington’s Mall of America. The way that mostly female crowd, estimated at 7,000, screamed, they’d gladly share germs from Efron, who was here to promote his movie “Charlie St. Cloud.” Only 100 to 200 fans actually got to meet Efron at the event sponsored by KDWB-FM. The chosen few got autographs plus a handshake or a hug, depending on their druthers.
Fans of the “High School Musical” heartthrob, who kept wiping his nose and eyes with his hand, were on all levels, down main corridors (roped off in places where they could not possibly have gotten a glimpse of Efron) and in new areas where there is usually no need to pool crowds.
Efron seemed awed by the scene. And he should have been. MOA spokeswoman Erica Dao checked the records and reported that Efron’s “High School Musical” co-star and girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens attracted an estimated 4,000 while former Gov. Sarah Palin’s crowd was estimated at 3,000.
Efron was late to the signing. According to a KDWB staffer, who may have been joking, Efron stopped at a convenience store to eat a hot dog.

Coca-Cola and MTV have launched the nationwide search to find one lucky super fan to unlock the behind the scenes coverage at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards as the “Movie Awards Insider.” This is not a random drawing. Registrants need to prove their movie knowledge and on-screen personality to enter. They have to make their case in 250 words or less saying why they are worthy of working side-by-side and behind-the-scenes with MTV’s News correspondents.
Once selected, the Movie Award Insider will join the MTV News team in L.A and receive guidance and mentorship on how to capture exclusive behind-the-scenes content- what an amazing opportunity for the winner!
The Insider will get to cover the following:
* what’s going on in days leading up to the awards,
* interviews with show nominees, presenters and MTV talent,
* backstage happenings during artist performance rehearsals,
* after-party.
In addition, Coca-Cola and MTV will choose 10 more entrants (each get a + one) to be flown to Los Angeles to attend the awards – doesn’t get much better than that!

In case you hadn’t already guessed by his prominent placement in the hilarious bio video for host Aziz Ansari or his memorable past appearances, Zac Efron is a big fan of the MTV Movie Awards. Now, the Hollywood heartthrob will be returning to the most outrageous, unpredictable awards show of the year – and bringing some friends along for good measure.
Vanessa Hudgens and Miranda Cosgrove will be joining Zac at this year’s Movie Awards ceremony, airing live June 6 from the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California, as presenters.
Efron appeared in TV shows like “Firefly,” “ER” and “Summerland” before landing the role of Troy Bolton in the 2006 Disney Channel movie “High School Musical.” Soon after, Efron was an overnight sensation and has since starred in “Hairspray,” “17 Again” and “Me and Orson Welles.”
It was on the set of the “High School Musical” movies that Efron would fall for Vanessa Hudgens, another young star who had appeared in shows like “Drake & Josh” and “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” and films such as “Thirteen” and “Thunderbirds.” She also became an overnight superstar playing Gabriella Montez in the “Musical” films, then went on to appear in “Bandslam”. She is about to release “Beastly” and then “Sucker Punch” and preparing for a stage production of “Rent.” Hudgens and Efron have been dating since 2007 and attended the 2009 Oscars together.
Hosted by comedian Aziz Ansari, the 19th annual show will feature a musical performance by Christina Aguilera. Additional presenters include Steve Carell, Jonah Hill, Russell Brand, Diddy, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. Don’t miss the MTV Movie Awards, airing Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV!

Aziz Ansari is used to making people laugh but this time, the joke’s on him – well, sort of! In a new spot to preview this year’s MTV Movie Awards, which Ansari will host, stars like Zac Efron, Kristen Bell and Diddy all reveal embarrassing (and hilarious) baby photos of the Parks and Recreation star. Plus, they share the real stories behind the pictures – like that time Ansari was stuck under a television set for six years.
The MTV Movie Awards will air live, June 6, at 9 p.m. EST.
They’re always up for a charitable cause, and last night (April 21) Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens were spotted at the LA Family Housing 2010 Gala.
The “High School Musical” mates looked blissful together as they mingled with fellow guests at the Avalon Hollywood.
Vanessa provided plenty of eye candy in her cute little red dress while sipping a glass of red wine, while Zac looked hunky in a grey suit/black shirt ensemble.
During the course of the night, Blair Rich of Warner Bros Pictures and Jeff Robinov of Worldwide Marketing were honored for their work.

Plot: Accomplished sailor Charlie St. Cloud has the adoration of mother Claire and little brother Sam, as well as a college scholarship that will lead him far from his sleepy Pacific Northwest hometown. But his bright future is cut short when a tragedy strikes and takes his dreams with it.
